About The Candy Drops Free Puff Stitch Crochet Blanket Pattern
The Candy Drops Blanket is a soft, highly textured design that resembles candy drops. I designed this free puff stitch crochet blanket pattern for my rainbow obsessed daughter, and it fits her bed perfectly.
By using a chunky, bulky weight yarn in pretty pastels, it really makes the colors pop against the white diamond stitches.
The design creates a double sided fabric featuring beautiful diamonds and colorful puffs across the entire afghan.
You can make this cozy throw in 3 sizes, which is perfect whether you need it for a baby crib, a growing child, or an adult bed.
While the free crochet blanket pattern is written for a standard rectangle, you can easily adapt it into a square, instructions are included in the pattern.
To help you along the way, I have included a detailed photo tutorial to guide you through mastering the intricate blanket design and adding the unique border.

How to Crochet A Unique Puff Stitch Crochet Blanket
Working up this design is simpler than it looks, especially with the included photo tutorial.
For this free diamond and puff stitch crochet blanket pattern that, grab your favorite chunky yarn and a 6 mm crochet hook to create those plush, bulky stitches.
The pattern is written for 3 width sizes as a standard rectangle afghan, but it is easy to adjust length if you want a perfect square, or a longer or shorter finished piece.
When it comes to planning your blanket, the color options are endless. I used 1 main color, and 5 contrasting colors for my original design, but you can use as many as you like to match your decor. Just remember that to get the beautiful geometric effect and make the unique border stand out, you will need at least 2 colors.
