Thanks for checking out my bunny dolls onesie crochet pattern. With Easter fast approaching and my passion for crocheting dolls clothes growing I couldn’t resist designing this cute bunny onesie for my daughters doll. I can’t wait to see her face when she see’s her Easter gift next week! The Bunny onesie is designed to fit 18″ child style dolls. The dolls onesie buttons up the front and has an adorable bunny rabbit themed hood complete with floppy ears and a bushy tail! The dolls outfit can be adjusted slightly for smaller or larger waists by adjusting hook sizes. Full details of the adjustments are outlined further down.

How to crochet a bunny dolls onesie

The bunny dolls onesie is easy skill level. You’ll need to know basic crochet stitches, simple increase and decrease as well as be able to work into the back loops. The pattern involves very minimal sewing, to be more specific you’ll only need to sew on the ears and bushy tail. It works up super quick and uses aran (weight 4) yarn. I used a 5mm crochet hook to make my doll clothes but I recommend using a 5.5mm hook if your 18″ doll has a larger waist. More detailed information on sizing is included in the pattern. As well as yarn and hooks you’ll also need 3 buttons and a pompom to complete the pattern. Gauge is very important for this pattern as you want you doll clothes to fit. The dolls onesie uses approximately 125g (270yds) of yarn.

I used Stylecraft special aran. The following amounts are based on a 5mm hook. Add on approximately 10g of A & B if your using a 5.5mm hook

    A – white – 110g (216m/237yd)

    Abbreviations

    ch – chain

    sl st – slip stich

    st / sts – stitch / stitches

    sc – single crochet

    sc2tog – decrease (single crochet 2 together)

    hdc – half double crochet

2hdc – increase (2 half double crochet in one space)

hdc2tog – decrease (half double crochet 2 together)

    dc – double crochet

    tr – treble crochet

    blo – back loop only

    Gauge / tension

Gauge is important as everyone crochets with a different tension. Therefore, if your 2” swatch doesn’t match up you can change your hook size to suit your tension.

    5mm hook – 2” x 2” = 8 rows of 7 sc

    5.5mm hook – 2″ x 2″ = 7 rows of 7 sc

    Finished sizes (small/medium)

    Waist – 15cm / 16cm
    Inside leg – 16cm / 17cm
    Underarm to wrist – 11cm / 12cm
    Underarm to wrist – 11cm / 12cm
    Hood height – 16cm / 17cm

    Pattern notes

I do not count chains or finishing slip stitches in my stitch count. Numbers in brackets are the number of rows/stitches.

Stitches separated with a comma are to be made in separate spaces. eg. (sc, inc) would mean sc in first stitch then inc in next stitch. eg. (sc x 2, inc) would mean sc in first stitch, sc in second stitch, then inc in next stitch.

You will need the following supplies to complete the crochet project (links will take you directly to my recommended supplies)
