How to crochet a Christmas coffee cosy?
To make the Christmas coffee cozy, I used DK (weight 3) yarn in three different colors. I chose taupe for the cozy, then green and red for the holly applique. Additionally, I used two different crochet hooks: a 4mm hook for the coffee cozy and a 3mm hook for the holly.
Be sure to check your gauge before starting if you want your cozy to fit your cup and your applique to fit your cozy. As I mentioned earlier, I used acrylic yarn because it has a little more stretch than some other fibers, ensuring it will fit different-sized cups.
The crochet pattern is pretty easy overall. This free Christmas coffee cozy crochet pattern is perfect for advanced beginners looking for an easy project. My tutorial will show you how to crochet a coffee cozy that makes a charming gift or delightful addition to your tea time.
You’ll need to know your basic crochet stitches as well as the cluster stitch. You’ll also need to know how to work into front and back posts and how to increase and decrease.
The coffee cozy is worked up in one piece, and then the holly applique needs to be sewn on. The applique is made in three parts, so you will need to be confident in sewing to complete the project.
