This simple crochet doll diaper pattern is free and easy enough for beginners to try. The crochet doll diaper pattern will give you step by step instructions to to make a cute reusable nappy for 14” to 18″ baby dolls. The crochet doll diaper has an adjustable strap meaning it will fit most baby style dolls.

How to crochet a doll diaper? 

This easy doll diaper pattern is made using a 4mm crochet hook, 2 buttons and some DK or light worsted yarn. The diaper is made in one piece using the single and double crochet stitches, and some increases and decreases.

  • DK yarn
  • 4mm crochet hook
  • Scissors
  • Sewing needle
  • 2 x 15mm buttons

Yarn

Size & Gauge

  • Gauge = 1” x 1” = 4 rows of 4 stitches
  • To fit 14“to 18″ baby dolls
  • Waist band length: 23cm
  • Diaper Length: 18cm
  • Crotch width: 4.5cm

Abbreviations

USA Terminology (U.K. translation)

  • ch – Chain
  • dc – Double crochet
  • sc – Single crochet
  • sc2tog – sc 2 together (decrease)
  • 2sc – 2 sc in 1 space (increase)
  • sl st – Slip stitch
  • st/sts – Stitch/Stitches

Pattern notes

  • Chains and slip stitches are not included in stitch count.
  • Stitches separated with a comma are to be made in separate spaces. EG. “sc, dc” would mean “single crochet in first space, double crochet in next space”.
  • The buttons can slot between any dc stitch to make the diaper adjustable.
