- sl st – Slip stitch
- st/sts – Stitch/Stitches
Pattern Notes
- Chains and slip stitches are not included in stitch count.
- Stitches separated with a comma are to be made in separate spaces.
- For example, 2sc, sc x 2 would mean 2sc in first space, sc in next space, sc in next stitch.

Round 1
- Use green (A) yarn
- ch x 9 then start in second ch from hook
- 3sc, sc x 6, 3sc,
- sc x 6 in chs on opposite side
- sl st to first st & ch x 1
(18 sts)
Round 2
- BLO sc x 18
- sl st to first st & ch x 1
(18 sts)
Round 3 – 11
- sc x 18
- sl st to first st & ch x 1
- Fasten off after R11 & weave in ends
(9 rounds of 18 sts)
Backpack Flap
Row 1
- Use pink (B) yarn
- Make a MR & ch x 1
- sc x 3 in MR
- ch x 1 & turn
(3 sts)
Row 2
- 2sc x 3
- ch x 1 & turn
(6 sts)
Row 3
- (2sc, sc) 3 times
- ch x 1 & turn
(9 sts)
Row 4
- (2sc, sc x 2) 3 times
- ch x 1 & turn
(12 sts)
Row 5
- (2sc, sc x 3) 3 times

Row 6
- Work into the raw edge (the straight line of the semi-circle)

Assembly
- Sew the flap to the bag opening
- Sew through both loops on the flap and BLO of the bag
- Add a velcro dot or snap fastening to the bag and flap
Front Pocket
Row 1
- Use pink (B) yarn
- ch x 6 then start in second ch from hook
- sc x 5
- ch x 1 & turn

Row 2 – 3
- sc x 5
- ch x 1 & turn
- Fasten off after R3, leave tail for sewing.

Assembly
- Sew the pocket to the front of the crochet mini backpack
- Only sew the sides and bottom
Handles x 2
Row 1
- Use pink (B) yarn
- ch x 16 then start in second ch from hook
- sc x 15
- Fasten off leaving tail for sewing
(15 sts)
Assembly
- Sew the handles to the back of the bag into unworked FLO on R2 & R11
- Your crochet mini backpack is now complete!
