This beginner friendly free doll hat & mittens crochet pattern set will fit most baby and child style dolls. My youngest daughter just loves baby dolls! She spends hours looking after them and was absolutely delighted when she woke up and found her favourite doll in her new hat and mittens. Of course I have since had requests for new colours which is fine because they were so quick and easy to make and used hardly any yarn.
Crochet doll hat & mittens description
The hat and mittens should fit most baby dolls. I’ve tested them on a range of different sized baby dolls plus a 18” child doll. The dimensions of the hat are 12x17cm and the mittens measure 6x5cm.
How to crochet a hat and mittens for dolls
The baby doll hat and mittens crochet pattern is beginner skill level. You’ll need to know basic crochet stitches. Additionally you’ll need to know how to increase/decrease as well as knowing how to work into the back loop only. To make the baby doll hat & mittens I used deep red DK (weight 3) yarn and a 4mm crochet hook. Don’t forget it’s important to remember to do your gauge swatch before starting if you want your hat & mittens to fit.
