Thanks for checking out my Ladybug kids onesie crochet pattern. We love going on family camping trips during the Summer months and these onesies will be perfect to keep my children warm and cosy during the cold nights. I wanted to make a unisex onesie that both boys and girls would love! I thought a ladybug onesie would be super cute, I just love the black and red colours together.
Ladybug kids onesie crochet pattern
The ladybug kids onesie is suitable for children aged 2 to 10 years. The crochet pattern includes 8 different sizes and has handy tips on how to alter the length of the torso, legs and sleeves so you can easily adjust for the perfect fit. The all-in-one pyjamas is designed to be loose fitting for comfort. The ladybug kids onesie can be used as a sleep suit, an overcoat or even a fancy dress costume. The hooded onesie is warm and cosy and features fun ladybug spots and antennae. When you purchase the premium version of this crochet pattern you’ll also receive a printable colour in sheet so your children can help design their own onesie. If the onesie is a surprise gift you can give the colour in activity sheet at the same time as the onesie, children can then colour it in while wearing it.
How to crochet a children’s onesie
The ladybug kids onesie crochet pattern is easy skill level. You will need to know all your basic crochet stiches as well as having good sewing skills. The onesie itself is made in one-piece. The ladybird spots and antennae are then sewn on at the end. To make the crochet jumpsuit I used Aran (weight 4) yarn in 2 colours, 5 buttons and a small amount of toy stuffing for the antennae. I also used a 5mm crochet hook and tapestry needle. Gauge is very important for this crochet pattern. It is essential you make a swatch before you start and check your gauge on the garment after each section. Skipping this step could result in your onesie not fitting your child.
