Thanks for checking out my rain cloud appliqué crochet pattern. I’m currently working on a granny square blanket for my daughters. I plan to fill each square with a different appliqué until I have a big blanket full of the things they love most!

The rain cloud appliqué measures 9cm wide and 6cm high, the rain drops are just 1.5cm by 2cm. I used 2 different colors to crochet the rain cloud appliqué.

How to crochet a rain cloud

The rain cloud appliqué crochet pattern beginner skill level. You’ll need to know basic crochet stitches and simple increases. Obviously it may get a little fiddly due to the size but overall it’s a very fast and easy project.

To make the rain cloud appliqué I used 2 colors of DK (weight 3) yarn and a 4mm crochet hook. The whole appliqué uses just 3g (11yds) of yarn.

• Chains and finishing slip stitches are not included in stitch count.
• Stitches separated with a comma are to be made in separate spaces. EG. “sc, dc” would mean “single crochet in first space, double crochet in next space”.
• Change colors while completing the last stitch on the previous row.
