My newest design in my easy crochet applique collection is the free rose applique crochet pattern. I’m a little obsessed with these 3D crochet roses lately so I thought I’d share them with you. You can sew them onto any of your projects to make them look instantly pretty! The small applique roses look great on baby blankets and most crochet projects. This small crochet rose pattern for beginners is super easy to make. What’s more, they use up hardly any yarn and take just minutes to make!
How to crochet a rose applique
The free rose applique crochet pattern for beginners is very easy and uses all the basic crochet stitches, making it great for practicing them. The mini crochet rose measures approximately 2″ but this will depend on how tightly you wrap up the flowers. I used light worsted yarn and a 4mm crochet hook to make mine. You can experiment with different size yarns and hooks to make crochet roses of various sizes. I have also included a free simple leaf crochet pattern to complete the rose applique.
