Thanks for checking out my snowball scrunchie crochet patterns. Personally I just love homemade hair scrunchies. I think they’re super cute and great for using up scraps of yarn. I wanted to design a winter themed hair scrunchie. After looking through my stash I found a lovely ball of white yarn with no purpose and came up with the snowball scrunchies. The snowball scrunchies are suitable for both children and adults. They’ve got a ‘snowball’ texture made using the popcorn stitch. The first scrunchie is the most stretchy. The second hair scrunchie is chunky and can be used as a hair bun cover too!
How to crochet scrunchies
The snowball scrunchie crochet patterns are easy skill level. You’ll need to know basic crochet stitches. Additionally you’ll need to know how to make a popcorn stitch. To make the scrunchies I used white aran (weight 4) yarn and a 5mm crochet hook. I chose to use cotton for my scrunchies but I think acrylic yarn would work just as well, if not better as it has a little stretch. Importantly you will need hair elastics to work around.
