This free toy bounce house crochet pattern is easy to make and so much fun for children!

My daughter loves hosting pretend birthday parties for her mini figures! Because of this she was desperate for a toy bouncy castle for them to play on, just like she has for her own birthday parties.

After searching high and low to purchase a bouncy castle toy I came to the conclusion that they don’t actually exist. So, I decided to crochet one.

I’m so glad I made it as it’s been a massive hit in our house. It has provided my daughter with hours of imaginative play with her favorite mini figures. She is now able to host her own pretend birthday parties and summer fun days with their very own toy bouncy castle!

As mentioned above this bouncy castle toy truly is one of a kind! The crochet pattern will help you create a bounce house that actually feels bouncy.

I’d recommend using the bouncy castle with toy figures up to 3” tall so that they fit through the arched door. It is big enough to fit lots of figures at one time.

In addition the set also includes little balloons to complete the party atmosphere.

How to crochet a toy bounce house

The toy bouncy castle crochet pattern is easy skill level. That being said, you will need to be confident at sewing too as there is a fair bit of sewing involved to assemble the castle.

To complete the crochet pattern you’ll need to know basic crochet stitches. Additionally, you’ll need to know simple increases/decreases, as well as being able to work into the front and back loops.

So, to make the bouncy castle I used 3 colors of DK (weight 3) yarn. I chose pink, yellow and blue. Of course, you can get creative and use any colors you like. I used two different crochet hooks, a 3.5mm and a 4mm. I also used toy stuffing to fill up the bouncy castle and the balloons.

• Place the castle walls/straps onto the castle.
• Ensure the door opening is on the side of the base with horizontal rows.
• The straps will secure onto the pillars. The top and bottom strap should be showing on the outside. The middle strap goes on the inside.
• Using yellow (C) yarn, sew the castle walls to the base (sew onto front loops of the BLO row of base to ensure you have a straight line)
• Using blue (B) yarn, sew the straps onto the pillar.
• Firstly, align the bottom strap with the bottom of the pillar and sew on.
• Next sew up the side
• Then sew across the top strap
• Then sew back down the side
• You will not need to sew the middle strap.
• Repeat these steps to secure the other 3 pillars
