Heart Granny Squares
Make 15 Granny Squares using this free crochet pattern. You’ll need to use at least 3 different colors for an alternating design.
Bag Assembly
- Make 14 more granny squares (15 in total) in at least 3 colors for an alternating pattern
- Sew the 15 squares together, 3 squares high, 5 squares wide
- Fold work in half and sew up the final side
- DO NOT sew the top and bottom

- Use white (A) yarn & ch x 1 to begin
- sc x 80 (16 sc in each granny square)
- sl st to first st & ch x 1

Backpack Handles
Making the handles
- Make 2 handles
- Use 4 strands of yarn and change to a 6mm crochet hook
- ch x 150 then fasten off
- Handles should measure approx 47″

Handle 1 Assembly
- Weave the handle through tr & ch on top of the bag R3
- Both ends of the handle should be leaving on the left of the bag
- Slot the handle through the skipped stitch at the bottom left of the bag R3
- Tie both ends of the handle together & weave in ends

Handle 2 Assembly
- Repeat instructions for handle 1 on the right side. Alternate the weaving.
